Common Chrysler Cat Patterns

Many Chryslers are called foil cats and are more difficult to refine than regular patterned ceramic OEM units. These units with a swirl pattern have the precious metals placed on top of a metal foil and are more complicated and time-consuming to refine. For this reason, some units are often undervalued compared to their ceramic counterparts.

Keep An Eye Out For Triangle-Shaped Honeycomb

Also, keep a lookout for the triangle design of the honeycomb found inside; this is specific to Chrysler catalytic converters. We always recommend checking to see the full honeycomb before requesting a quote, but also note the triangle pattern inside instead of the regular checkered pattern.

Like other manufacturers, Chrysler has a regular honeycomb or foil honeycomb. The foil, made with metal, is usually worth significantly less—the honeycomb made of ceramic is worth more due to the increased amount of precious metals inside.

Where Do You Find A Serial Number on a Chrysler Cat?

If you have located the serial number on the catalytic converter, you can likely spot the Chrysler Logo at the beginning of the plate, followed by the numbers. Some Chrysler cats do not have the logo and will have to be identified with a photo grade, and our team can do that without a problem.

Chrysler Converter Serial Number Examples:

  • 209W
  • 557AAA
  • 471AAW
  • 080W
  • 071AA
