Identifying Kia Catalytic Converters for Scrap

How to Identify and Sell Kia Catalytic Converters with RRCats

KIA LogoKia and Hyundai Are Siblings

The helpful thing about Hyundai is that they share a parent company with Kia, so they keep their serial numbers similar and straightforward.

Kia catalytic converters typically have a serial number made up of 5–6 letters and numbers. These serials are most commonly found stamped on the silver heat shield, which is why we strongly recommend not removing the shield before taking photos for a quote.

If the shield is removed and no serial number appears on the converter body itself, our team will rely on photo grading alone, which may lead to a less accurate valuation.

Common Serial Numbers:

There have been dozens of Hyundai and Kia models throughout the years, so there are dozens of serial numbers, but below are some common ones:

  • U2FE15
  • 3C180
  • 2MC3U
  • TSH41
  • CNV01
  • RHF
  • DC

Below are real images of what Hyundai catalytic converters typically look like. If you have a Hyundai converter, visit our identification guide for that brand as well.
