Identifying Mitsubishi Catalytic Converters for Scrap

How to Identify and Sell Mitsubishi Catalytic Converters with RRCats

What Do Mitsubishi Catalytic Converters Look Like?

Don’t be fooled by Mitsubishi catalytic converters; they will look like an aftermarket converter. They sometimes have a silver shield on them and could fool you into thinking they are “garbage.” But the key is to look for the serial numbers and logo. Most Mitsubishi converters have the logo on them with their short serial numbers.

If yours has a “silver shield” on it, do not remove it! The serial numbers are often on the shield, and they will help our team quote your converter for scrap value.

The Mitsubishi logo is usually centered on the converter’s heat shield, making it easier to confirm that you’re working with a genuine part. If your converter has the logo and a nearby stamped code, you’re likely dealing with an OEM unit that our team at RRCats can quote accurately.

How To Identify A Mitsubishi Catalytic Converter

Mitsubishi catalytic converters often feature short serial numbers — typically just two characters long — stamped near or around the Mitsubishi logo. These codes can include a mix of letters and numbers, or just letters, and are a strong indicator of OEM authenticity.
