Welcome Cat Lovers!
Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe.
The team at RRCats.com would like to talk about Torpedo Catalytic Converters today.
What is a Torpedo Catalytic Converter?
Torpedo catalytic converters come from the Ford Company vehicles and are generally used on their Model F and E series Trucks & Vans. They are usually very large in size due to having multiple “biscuits” or honeycombs inside.
The converters range in value depending on how many bricks (honeycombs) are inside them and the current market prices.
Two very important things to look at when looking at your Torpedo Catalytic Converter are:
- The number of “bricks” it contains – you can see this by removing the shield and counting.
- The serial numbers – this is so important in determining the value of these catalytic converters, one letter difference at the end could be a significant difference in price.

How To Find Torpedo Cat Serial Numbers
To find the entire serial number you will need to cut pack the shield above the slot opening where you can view the other numbers to display the full serial number.
Once you cut back the shield above the slot, you can use steel wool to clean any rust or build up and find the number.
